A wise friend just told me that whenever she feels down, she looks at a special folder that has photos of happy times from the past.  This makes her smile.  We find ways to deal with the everyday normal ups and downs, each in their own way.  What I love about this photo is that it’s all about perspective.  The beauty and majesty of the rose, so detailed and perfect, is front and center, amidst a bland, gray, dismal backdrop.  We don’t know how this rose is surviving, but it is.
